LPD8806 led strip is controlled by external IC, each IC controls two RGB chips. with data back up, one leds dead with not affect others working.
The advantage of LPD8806 is its data speed is much fast , PMW frequency is 4000HZ. better than ws2811 ws2812b ws2813.
